U.S. Under-19 Women's National Team Earn 2-0 Win Over Germany in First of Two Matches in Frankfurt
USA Gets Goals from Kiera Kemmerley and Olivia Stafford; Assists Come From Jaida McGrew and Kylie Maxwell

FRANKFURT, Germany (June 5, 2026) – The U.S. Under-19 Women’s National Team scored one goal in each half in the first of two friendlies against Germany, defeating the hosts 2-0 at the DFB National Training Center. The goals came less than 10 minutes into the first half and with less than ten minutes left in the second.
Northwestern midfielder Keira Kemmerley buried an early goal in the seventh minute after the ball was played to Florida State defender Jaida McGrew on the right wing. She beat her defender driving to the end line then cut the ball back on her left foot before playing a short pass to Kemmerley on the top right of the 18-yard box. Kemmerley took one touch before striking her shot. The ball took a deflection off a German defender as the goalkeeper was diving to her right and went straight into the center of the net.
The U.S. would continue to pepper Germany with shots throughout the match, outshooting the hosts 12-6 and taking six shots on target to Germany’s one.
Still, it wasn’t until the 86th minute that the U.S. would get an insurance goal. Building out of the back to break the German press, a long ball eventually found its way up to UNC forward Lauren Malsom who laid the ball off to Wake Forest forward Kylie Maxwell on the U.S. side of the center circle. Maxwell then played a through ball to the left to Vanderbilt’s Olivia Stafford who was making a run behind the defense. Stafford took a big touch past the German ‘keeper who came out to challenge the one-on-one chance, but Stafrord beat the ‘keeper to the right and slotted the ball into the back of the net.
The U.S. U-19 WNT takes the field again on June 9 in a second match against Germany at the DFB Campus.
This match was a part of the Federation’s continued focus on the U.S. Way philosophy, which emphasizes increased programming for Youth National Teams to create more opportunities for young players to advance through the pathway to the senior National Team with the goal of representing their country at a world championship.
