U.S. Men’s National Team head coach Mauricio Pochettino announced his 27-player roster for two March matches in Atlanta, Ga. earlier this week. Now, we know which European stars the USMNT will face on the pitch at Mercedes-Benz Stadium — the two World Cup-bound opponents, Belgium on March 28 and Portugal on March 31, announced their rosters for the upcoming matches.
Notably absent for Portugal is Cristiano Ronaldo. The world-class striker and five-time Ballon d'Or award-winner will not make the trip due to a muscle injury.
The roster for Portugal head coach Roberto Martínez includes PSG midfielder João Neves and AC Milan winger Rafael Leão. Kevin de Bruyne, formerly of 2022-23 Champions League winners Manchester City, and his current Napoli teammate Romelu Lukaku, the nation’s leading scorer, feature for Belgium head coach Rudi Garcia.
